Julie Jaffee Nagel, PhD.
Licensed Psychologist,
Psychoanalyst

For over 25 years I have been helping people from all walks of life with personal and professional issues that interfere with enjoyment of their relationships and success in their occupations. Some of these issues include anxiety, depression, relationship and career issues, and performance anxiety (musicians, public speakers, academics, test takers, social anxiety).

My background is hybrid as my training and experience are in piano performance and in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Therefore, I offer a broad range of psychological options including evaluations, consultations, coaching for auditions and job interviews, brief treatment in-depth psychotherapy, and psychoanalysis. I also enjoy supervising mental health professionals and collaborating with physicians who see patients dealing with physical and emotional issues.

I have been a frequent presenter at conferences and symposia on the topics of performance anxiety as well as the relationship between music and emotions. I also have collaborated with my husband, classical pianist Louis Nagel, in lecture/recitals.

If you are considering psychological treatment, my approach is to explain and discuss a range of treatment options, including fee, and to help you to make informed choices. Confidentiality and privacy always are of utmost importance.
